Thallium-based lenses are optical lenses made from thallium-based glass. Their primary components include thallium (Tl), selenium (Se), tellurium (Te) and other thallium-containing elements, as well as some metal elements. They possess excellent mid-to-long-wave infrared transmission capabilities, enabling efficient transmission of infrared light in the 8-14 μm band. Additionally, they feature a low refractive index temperature coefficient and low dispersion, making them suitable for applications such as infrared thermal imaging, night vision, and temperature measurement. They can be mass-produced through precise molding processes, are relatively cost-effective, and can be designed as aspherical surfaces, which helps improve the performance of optical systems
