A quartz plano-convex lens is an optical lens made from quartz material, characterized by one flat surface and one convex surface. This design gives it a positive focal length, enabling it to focus parallel light rays to a single point or convert light from a point source into a collimated beam. The quartz material endows the lens with excellent properties, including high transmittance, low thermal expansion coefficient, high radiation resistance, and low fluorescence. It exhibits good transmittance particularly in the ultraviolet to near-infrared wavelength range (approximately 185nm - 2.1μm), making it suitable for applications with high optical performance requirements such as laser systems, spectrometers, optical communications, and astronomical observations. In practical applications, quartz plano-convex lenses are often manufactured through precision machining and polishing processes to ensure surface quality and optical accuracy. Some products may also be coated with anti-reflective coatings according to specific needs to further reduce reflection losses and enhance light transmission efficiency.
